TUC Annual Congress

The TUC Congress, one of the highest profile political events in the United Kingdom will be held in Liverpool for the first time at the BT Convention Centre from 14 to 17 September.

Some 750 delegates are expected to attend with around 3,000 visitors and exhibitors expected to attend the conference with the usual media circus. The whole event is expected to have a £2 million effect on the Liverpool economy over the three days.

Both Brendan Barber, TUC General Secretary, and Keith Faulkner, senior events organiser, were enthusiastic about not only Liverpool which will provide the atmosphere but also the new BT Convention Centre which provides and accessible and sizable site for the conference requirements.

Keith Faulkner commented that the Liverpool events team had been very accommodating of the conference needs and he was looking forward to returning to Liverpool in the future. The General Manager of the BT Convention Centre is understandably delighted that the event is coming to Liverpool having been held at a number of venues across the country including Brighton since 2003.
