Rooms are basic enough with excellent standard of housekeeping. All rooms were completed in June 2006. There is no restaurant in the hotel, however light bites are served at lunchtime in a "cafeteria" type area opposite the hotel reception. Breakfast is served in the lounge area. The hotel is a large white Victorian building which has retained many of the original features including the bay windows at the front. The entrance is covered by a large canopy. On entering the hotel, reception is located on the left and the main bar on the right. A residents’ bar can be found further down the corridor on the left. Both the main bar and the residents’ bars have wide screen televisions and serve a wide range of drinks. Both bars are open from 11 am – 11 pm, Mon – Sat, Sunday 12.30 – 10.30 pm but the residents bar will stay open when required.

This is a good, two-star standard hotel with dining facilities. All rooms are in excellent condition. Iron and hair dryer are available from the reception free of charge. With the location and price of this hotel, a lot of young guests stay here and the residents’ bars may stay open until early hours of morning. This hotel is not recommended if guests are looking for an early nights sleep – in particular over weekends or football dates. The hotel gained great publicity a month ago when Paris Hilton stayed here when attending the Carling Academy next door.

The stylishly furnished Sports Bar offers a wide range of Premium Drinks and 19 different types of bottled beer from around the world. Wall to wall plasma screen televisions offer excellent sports coverage. The opening of the new beer terrace allows sports viewing in the outdoors.
If you are looking for a quieter, more relaxed venue then it has to be the newly refurbished residents lounge; offering a wide range of premium brand drinks, tea and coffee within luxuriant surroundings.

With wall to wall plasma screen televisions, an excellent audio system, a wide range of premium drinks and beers, comfortable seating and table service there is no reason not to be enjoying the sporting moment in the Dug Out.
The Lord Nelson Hotel boasts excellent transport links, with Liverpool Lime St train station and bus stations within walking distance and easy access to the ferries, John Lennon airport and taxis there is no excuse not to view the city and its attractions.

Exit M62 follow signs for city centre. Follow the dual carriage way to the fork in the road. Take the left fork then turn right into Mount Vernon which becomes London Road. Follow this road to the bottom. At the traffic lights turn left, drive past the Empire Theatre and turn left into Lord Nelson Street. The Lord Nelson Hotel is situated halfway up the street on the left.
From M53
Exit the tunnel following city centre signs. Turn left on to Hunter Street. At the traffic lights turn right onto Norton Street, then turn right onto London Road, take the next left turn before the traffic lights on to Hotham Street. The Lord Nelson Hotel is at the end of the street on the left.
By Train
Exit Liverpool Lime Street via the Lord Nelson Street exit. Turn right and walk 200m and The Lord Nelson Hotel is on the corner of Hotham Street on the left.
Further a field the city of Manchester with it’s football stadia (Manchester United and Manchester City), excellent shopping and airport is only approximately 1 hours drive or by train.
