Are you a real ale enthusiast and need spoiling in lavish settings? Then this pub is an impeccable place to be with its fine Victorian furnishings. As it offers almost everything one could wish for when enjoying an evening out.
Close to Queen’s square, this building is in name of a 19th century tireless poverty campaigner and physician William Henry Duncan – first opening in 1999. This is one of Cain’s brewery flagship pubs, and is very much the talk of town with its great range of pub food. Commonly known for catering to the older generation, it is a great place for those wanting a bit of peace and quiet.
Doctor Duncan’s offers a great beer experience for everyone as this pub offers over seven hundred different real ales per year. The bar may be on the small side but the pub as a whole is spacious and luxurious, with a great view of St. George’s hall.
All over this building there are small nooks and crannies to have that intimate quiet conversation. However, the main room is very ornate with Victorian style furnishings. The great atmosphere accentuates due the tall ceiling, allowing for your voice to resonate throughout the room. As a pub of choice, this rates among the first class!
