Irish bars over the years have sprung up all over the UK and examples of them show that they either very bad or extremely good.  Flannagans is a very good original Irish bar that does not basis its emphasis in old clichés.

Being the first Irish bar to open in Liverpool and sitting on the main tourist street.  Its reputation continues to attract people countrywide and from abroad.

With three floors to this sizeable building, Flannagans has the capacity to cater for just about every occasion.  Live bands often play here, and not just the diddly diddly type – As bands often vie to play on the downstairs stage from all around the surrounding areas of the city!

The building itself has its walls adorned with the eminent 19th-century Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung – who once referred to Liverpool as ‘The Pool of Life.’  Even on the windows, seven leprechauns dance away at passersby and tourists cheekily inviting you to come on in for a drink.

Inside the lighting is subdued.  Its wooden flooring and seating provides cosy corners of comfort.  The friendly service, reasonable ale and bring a healthy smattering of nostalgia and tickle for the cockles of your heart.

Calling into this venue for a pint, is to be sure to bring out the cheeky leprechaun in you!
