Nicknamed the ‘Big house’, its name certainly precedes its reputation in every way.
As part of a series of baroque buildings on this road, Albert Vine commissioned this building in 1867. In 1907, Robert Cain bought the Victorian style building that is full of character.
Grand is a word that rather understates this luxurious building. Inside the furnishings, the chandelier in the Queensbury room and the fireplace are a marvel on the eye. The Vines once had such swagger that it even boasted its own art collection. The function room impresses so much it is perfect for functions and parties.
As this building resides in the very heart of Liverpool, this is always a lively pub with plenty of characters from the city.
Indeed, as the Vines is predominantly an Irish pub. There is no surprise that events held here such as the karaoke nights and the live bands at weekends prove to be very popular. The Vines is certainly one of the best pubs of the Liverpool city centre.
