Once the favoured haunt of the Beatle’s John Lennon, the famous Ye Crack sits in the creative corner of Liverpool city centre. This public house is sheer simplicity in its wake.
Residing off Hope Street and just around the corner from the Pilgrim, this pub is a favourite haunt of students, artists and those seeking a good conversation. Ye Crack has an array of inviting and discrete rooms.
Its pub grub is a cheap and cheerful offering of sandwiches, pies and bar snacks. But what makes the Crack well worth the effort to find is its range of real ale which shows the wealth of English brews country wide.
Although Ye Crack may appear to be somewhat rough and ready from the outset, the leaded windows and simple furnishings add to the appeal of this charming 150 year old building. The recently re-opened building is a great place to spend a summer afternoon or evening.
The famous war room is ironically the only part of Ye Crack that has warranted a preservation order. This small snug is the oldest part of the building. Also the place documented as where former Beatles John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe back in the sixties, sat and supped on black velvets. Indeed, tourists often go off the beaten track just to visit Ye Crack and this particular room.
